Attic Insulation blocks heat from entering the home in the summer and holds heat in the home during the winters. The results are a cooler home in the summer, a warmer home in the winter, and lower energy bills. Insulation is so effective that its cost is often paid for through energy savings in less than a year and with the rising cost of natural gas and electricity, savings may come even sooner!

  • Reduce your heating bills by improving your energy
    efficiency.
  • Increase your home comfort levels.
  • Support the climate by reducing your own greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Improve your home’s energy rating.

The cost of attic insulation depends on a number of factors:
1. The area that you require to be insulated.
2. The depth of insulation required.
3. How easy the attic or loft is to access.
4. If it’s just for insulation or for an attic or loft conversion.
5. The type of insulation that you use.

The recommended level for most attics is to insulate to R-38 or about 10 to 14 inches, depending on the insulation type. Please contact us and we can advise on attic insulation requirements.

Yes, you do unless your roof is counter battened.

Irish building regulations require a 50mm air gap to allow the structure to ‘breathe’. This allows water vapour to escape to the outside air preventing the harmful buildup of dampness and mold.

Yes, we use a unique breathable vent card system that is rigid and long-lasting and meets the highest building standards.

A poorly insulated Irish home can lose 20-30% of its heat through its attic or roof. An under-insulated house is more vulnerable to the outside temperature as heat naturally flows from hot to cold. Losing heat through the attic harms the environment by increasing greenhouse gas emissions, it also costs you money with higher heating bills. Attic Insulation blocks heat from entering the home in the summer and holds heat in the home during the winters.

Bedrooms located on upper floors are especially vulnerable to outside temperatures. Insulation to your attic space is a great way to ensure these rooms stay temperate at night and in the early morning when temperatures are at their lowest.
